More and more people are learning what it is like to live on a fixed income. Thanks to the economy and a job market that is slightly above terrible, fixed income living is not just for the retired or the injured. Hopefully, there will be a recovery that will allow many people to live a little more serenely.

What is going on with the gas prices? I’m going to date myself, but when I was in college, I went to a school that was fairly remote and gas prices were under $1. I could fill up my Crown Victoria tank for 10 bucks. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and there the price was $1.50. Once I left college and got a job, I remember there was a huge outcry when gas crept over $2. Once we got used to that, then it started climbing. $2.50, $3 and now almost $3.50 where I live. I still live in a fairly rural area, so I know that there is some fluctuation due to location, but it makes me wonder why we spent so much time complaining about the $2 price tag.

Yes, there are benefits to people playing video games. The biggest benefit? A $5 billion boost to a struggling economy. That’s a 5 with nine zeros after it. These figures are coming for the Entertainment Software Association. How’s that for a few shiny pixels on a TV screen?
