What do you think about that ?

Posted on October 4th, 2011 by Admin

I was watching the sports channel and the sports reporters got into the argument about sports players going and giving publicity or support to their girlfriends. It all started because Jay Cutler was in The Dancing with the Stars audience supporting his girlfriend Kristen Cavalleri.

I personally think there is nothing wrong with a coupl supporting each others career but if the relationship starts affecting either ones work then thats a problem. Tony Romo was a perfect example. It seems that his relationship with Jessica Simpson was a distraction. In cases wherethe player is too distracted by his new romance he needs to take a step back and see what is more important. I do not and would not want to support a player who cant separate his private life from his public one.

What is your opinion when it comes to sports player dating high profile women?

NFL lockout

Posted on April 22nd, 2011 by admin

It seems a little strange to be talking about football when baseball season is not even a month old, but some people have been watching the NFL lockout pretty closely. Especially for employees of the teams who aren’t necessarily paid the same way as the athletes are watching how the labor negotiations are cutting into their salaries.

Golf

Posted on April 20th, 2011 by admin

I love the sport of golf, even though I’m not very good at it. I watch professional golfers on TV and marvel at how easy they make it seem to hit the ball toward the hole. Every once in a while though, one of the pros gets busted down to the level of us other mortals. Kevin Na recently shot a 16 on a par four at the Texas Open. If you’re not into golf lingo, that means an average player should be able to get the ball in the hole in only four hits. Na bested that by 4x.

Surfing

Posted on April 18th, 2011 by admin

I think this has to fall into the “What would you do for a Klondike Bar” category. Would you like to go surfing? Who wouldn’t; while it is a sport that requires good balance, most everyone who does surf seems to enjoy themselves. Would you surf a river that produces waves that last for ten miles? Why not, if something is fun, keep the fun going as long as possible. Would you surf that 10 mile wave if crocodiles lived in the same water? Check please.

Baseball

Posted on April 4th, 2011 by admin

Baseball season is back again. Hope springs eternal, especially if you’re a Chicago Cubs fan. Granted, my White Sox didn’t get off to a smashing start, but since 2005, I don’t care that much. I got to see my favorite team win the championship, so now I can sit back, relax and just enjoy the games. Win or lose, I’m happy.

Baaseball playoffs

Posted on March 11th, 2011 by admin

Well, I guess we can just skip the regular season and go right to the World Series. I exaggerate, but apparently some of the talking heads in the sports world are already predicting divisional winners. We haven’t played one regular season game yet someone has the Red Sox pegged to win the AL East.

Opening Day

Posted on March 4th, 2011 by admin

Let the countdown begin. Opening Day is within reach. Forget March Madness, the Stanley Cup, the NBA, this is the season I love to be in. Baseball season. I don’t know if my favorite team, the Chicago White Sox, will be any kind of post-season threat, but I plan to enjoy every minute of it.

Dunks gone wild

Posted on March 1st, 2011 by admin

I bet this guy is wishing he had these few seconds to relive again. This is a clip of a basketball coach demonstrating (hot dogging?) for his team. He tries to dunk the ball, but watch what happens.

Super Bowl thoughts

Posted on February 10th, 2011 by admin

I was impressed with the Super Bowl. I thought Green Bay did a decent job of capitalizing on Steeler miscues. Of course, the biggest break was the interception touchdown. Even though that was not the last score by Green Bay, it ended being the difference maker. The offense went almost point for point, but the defense is where the difference was made. remember the old adage, offense gets you into the playoffs, but the defense wins it for you.

Football Safety

Posted on February 4th, 2011 by admin

I find this a little disheartening. Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is wearing a different helmet that what the NFL regulates. It is this helmet that Rodgers claims prevented a concussion during the NFC championship football game against the Bears. With all the high school and college programs trying to prevent serious head trauma, they’re looking find out from Green Bay which type of helmet it is. Is Green Bay offering that information? No. My question: why not? Boo on Green Bay.
